McDonald's Restaurant Review
On this week's grease pit review, I decided to go to McDonalds. Right from the start, the experience was different than my visits to Chipotle and Cane's. The biggest difference was the fact that I ordered on a screen in the front of the restaurant. This was very convenient because the line moved very quickly and I was happy to see that the customer interface was very easy to navigate and I did not struggle at all to find what I wanted to get. The amount of customization that McDonald's is able to get from this is impressive because you are able to customize the size of your fries and drinks along with the sauces that you get. Another aspect of this customer interface that I love is their app. They have daily deals that allow you to get a large amount of food for a low price. This is something that is very beneficial for college students because affordable food that you can get quickly is very important if you need to get food fast and on a budget. I do think one thing that holds back this system is the lack of customer service. When ordering from the screen, the only interaction that you have with an employee is when you pick up the food from the counter. This is something that I find disappointing because customer service is what sets apart some businesses from others.
When it comes to the food, I have to admit that McDonald's isn't the best but I do think that it is better than the reputation that it has. Maybe that's the nostalgia from going there as a kid setting in, but there is something that is special about a Big Mac or some chicken mcnuggets. It may be processed and not healthy but I think McDonald's can be a good option when you are willing to eat something that is unhealthy. I don't think that the food or customer service are nearly as good as the two restaurants I have reviewed but, I still think that McDonald's is an above average Fast Food place so I am going to give it a score of 7/10.
