Tropical Smoothie Cafe Restaurant Review

    On this week's edition of the Grease Pit Restaurant Review series I have decided to review Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I feel that one of the main things which holds this restaurant back in the eyes of the Baylor public is that it is in a location that is difficult to see from the main access road next to interstate 35. In my two and a half years as a student at Baylor, I don't feel like Tropical Smoothie Cafe ever comes up as an option when my friends and I are looking for a place to eat. As I mentioned earlier, the building being somewhat hidden to people driving by and it being a good distance past most of the fast food places in the Grease Pit makes it very forgettable. Additionally, Tropical Smoothie Cafe doesn't have the same brand recognition as other fast food places in the area. This adds to the problem of people not having it in mind as one of the first options when picking a place to eat.

    While these attributes may hold the restaurant back, it is important to still look at the food and service that the restaurant provides. By far the best attribute of the restaurant is the smoothies. I believe that Tropical Smoothie Cafe provides some of the best smoothies in the industry at a low price paired with a large quantity. This is something that is hard to find at other restaurants because I often feel like other places charge high prices for smaller smoothies that aren't as good. Additionally, they offer a wide variety of flavors so you are able to any smoothie that you could imagine. With regards to the food, I think that the healthier options at Tropical Smoothie make it appealing to students looking for healthy food options at an affordable price. While the food is healthier, I don't think that the quality is as good as other competitors. Additionally, the quantity of food is not very large so the combination of low quality and quantity does not make the restaurant somewhere that people will choose to go often. Overall, I have decided to give Tropical Smoothie Cafe a 6.5 out of 10 rating for my Grease Pit Review Series.
