Whataburger Restaurant Review

Image
On this weeks Grease Pit restaurant review I have decided to review my experience at Whataburger. Being someone who was born and raised in Texas, Whataburger was a fast food restaurant that I grew up going to and have had fond memories in. A major stereotype that I have grown a custom to in the time that I have visited Whataburger is the slow waiting time. This is a problem that can be seen at any location of the restaurant and is something that is one of the few things holding it back from having a perfect score. However, when talking to Baylor students some may say that this is something that actually adds to the experience. The times spent in Whataburger waiting on your food can be some of the best memories people have in college or high school. So, this is somewhat of a strange phenomena where this doesn't hurt the way people view the restaurant as much as it should.      With regards to the food, the variety that Whataburger provides is hard to be...

Chic-fil-A Restaurant Review

This week I have decided to review Chick-fil-A, a fast-food establishment I've visited frequently. The situation for me reviewing the restaurant came after having friends over to my house to watch football and when choosing a place to eat, Chick-Fil-A was at the top of the list.      One aspect that stood out was the exceptional customer service. It's not common to encounter such attentiveness at a fast-food restaurant. After ordering, I went to refill my drink after I had finished it. I approached an employee, and she promptly refilled the dispenser and my cup, all without hesitation. As we finished our meal, another employee kindly offered to clear our trays. This level of service is rare in the fast food industry, especially when you can find multiple examples of it.      The food at Chick-fil-A was also a highlight. Despite the busy restaurant, our orders arrived quickly, hot, and fresh. They were all prepared correctly. The chicken,...

Freddy's Restaurant Review

Image
On this week's Grease Pit Restaurant Review I have decided to review Freddy's. The first thing that stands out when visiting Freddy's is the old school feel of the restaurant. The building has the feel of an old school diner and makes you feel like you are in a different era. The red and white color scheme and the 60's music playing in the background adds to this feeling. The Freddy's in Waco happens to be a place that my grandparents always visit when driving through Waco. When asking them why they always stop at Freddy's my grandfather answered, "Eating here reminds me of my teenage years so it is always fun to stop by when visiting Waco." This is something that makes the restaurant a fun place to go for people that are from that generation but for Baylor students it might not have the same appeal.     This is something that holds back the restaurant from being a place that Baylor students frequently visit because it is not as cool of a place to...

Jersey Mike's Restaurant Review

Image
On this weeks Grease Pit Restaurant Review I have decided to talk about my experience at Jersey Mike's. One thing that made my visit to Jersey Mike's set apart from other fast food places was watching them make the sub sandwiches right in front of me. I have always appreciated the way that Jersey Mikes slices the meat you pick right in front of you which is a really good way to remind the consumer that this is fresh, and almost make it not feel like a fast food place. This is something that is similar to what I said in my review of Chipotle. Both stores share similar feelings that the food you are getting is fresh and overall, healthier than other options in the area. I have found that the extra care they put into making their sandwiches keeps me coming back rather than going to competitors such as Jimmy John's or Subway.          Additionally, the customization that Jersey Mike's provides is something that makes it special. They h...

McDonald's Restaurant Review

Image
On this week's grease pit review, I decided to go to McDonalds. Right from the start, the experience was different than my visits to Chipotle and Cane's. The biggest difference was the fact that I ordered on a screen in the front of the restaurant. This was very convenient because the line moved very quickly and I was happy to see that the customer interface was very easy to navigate and I did not struggle at all to find what I wanted to get. The amount of customization that McDonald's is able to get from this is impressive because you are able to customize the size of your fries and drinks along with the sauces that you get. Another aspect of this customer interface that I love is their app. They have daily deals that allow you to get a large amount of food for a low price. This is something that is very beneficial for college students because affordable food that you can get quickly is very important if you need to get food fast and on a budget. I do think on...
